Trips and tins. Oh my!

We've been home almost a week and I'm trying to reintegrate back into  Real Life. When we left there was still snow in the woods and we returned to Spring. Mother Nature is doing her darnedest to play catch up as a result everything is blooming, unfurling at once and while glorious for this colour-starved girl, the amount of pollen is putting my allergy drugs under much strain. But. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Before I left, I had one more Herring Tin Shrine left to photograph then I think I'll leave these for awhile. Too many other things ...OUTSIDE things... tugging at my brain.

The wings are from a previous altered barbie I did waaaaay back ... Fembot Angel. You might be able to see the cracks on the neck? I dismantled her and now the wings are part of this shrine. Yay! for repurposing.

The arm is from a plaster casting I made of a wooden hand featured in a Seth Apter assemblage I purchased years ago for my husband. Something about its hand-carvedness makes me swoon. I'm always amazed at how much detail plaster casts pick up! And the tin's insert paper is a 'story card leftover' from DJ Berger. I couldn't bear to throw it away and I think it fits perfectly with this piece. In fact, I think this one may stay home.
