Behind the Painting

I love his sculptured face, gazing off into the distance, remembering perhaps, a poignant, bittersweet moment. His skin tone is created with layer upon layer of acrylic glazes attempting an almost oil like translucence. And that dramatic red background gives a vibrancy in direct contrast to his otherwise calm appearance. LOVE that juxtapostion!
